"Meillä oli vuokralumikengät mukana, ja säädimme ne jalkoihimme heti luontokeskus Ukon takana, Kolin huippujen tuntumassa. Eri värisin nauhoin puiden oksiin merkattu lumikenkäreitti oli hyvin tampattu, eli helppo seurata, ja henkeäsalpaavan kaunis! Put on your snowshoes and go snowshoeing! A simple, fun, effortless, and even magical way to move on the white hills begins at the rental shop of Ukko.
"We had rented snowshoes and adjusted them to our feet immediately behind the nature center Ukko, at the edge of the Koli peaks. The snowshoe trail marked with different colored ribbons tied to the tree branches was well trampled, making it easy to follow, and breathtakingly beautiful! The trail twisted and turned almost immediately from the candle pine groves to the edge of the cliff, and our jaws dropped in amazement! The receding cloud mass opened the view far across the northern snow-covered hills.
We returned along the marked trail towards the peaks and fully enjoyed the views of Paha-Koli and Ukko-Koli. There were spots along the way where an unsuspecting traveler had tried to step off the trail without snowshoes and in those places, the foot had sunk several tens of centimeters deep into the snow. I was very pleased that we had proper snowshoes and poles that normally serve as ski poles with us."
Rental equipment is picked up and returned to the Koli Nature Center Ukko during opening hours 10:00-17:00 (10 am to 5 pm).
Later returns are possible at the reception of the Break Sokos Hotel Koli.

Remember to bring an identification document with you!
You can choose the starting time of the rental time based on hours from the drop-down menu. Rental time starts between 10:00 and 17:00.
A rental time based on full days starts from 10:00 on the day of pick up and ends on 12:00 (noon) on the day of return.
Please return the snowshoes before the end of the rental time so that the next snowshoer can experience the magic of deep snow.
